Project Description

We will promote research on inflatable robots, which consists of bendable membranes inflated by air pressure. Inflatable structures, which are membrane structures inflated by internal gas, have advantages in light weight and high shape deployment ratio. We especially focus on the extendable deformation of elongated inflatable tubes, and we will conduct research on soft-growing robot that performs plant-like growing behavior and climbing robot with long-extendable arms.
