Project Description

The goal of this project is to realize vibration drive of micro electric parts such as chip condensers and resisters. We apply asymmetric surface (saw-tooth surface) with symmetric vibration (sinusoidal vibration) to realize one-directional motion of micro parts. We are analyzing dynamics of micro parts during feeding.
Micro parts used in portable electric devices become smaller and smaller; from 2012 (2.0mm in length and 1.2mm in width) parts to 0402 (0.4mm in length and 0.2mm in width) parts recently. Conventional feeding using asymmetric vibration or elliptic vibration reduces efficiency in micro parts feeding. Here we apply asymmetric surface (saw-tooth surface) with symmetric vibration (sinusoidal vibration) to realize one-directional motion of micro parts. We are analyzing dynamics of micro parts during feeding considering inertial force, friction force, adhesion force, and electrostatic force.
